Hi there! My name is Tony.
I am the owner and architect of Bar Freedom.
My goal is to provide a casual bar experience for you to explore the world of Japanese whisky. If you are new to whisky or Japanese whisky in particular, I am more than happy to guide and walk you through its history. If you are already a whisky expert, I would love to chat and share my whiskies with you.

-Important-
From mid March till the end of May is a busy season in Osaka. I would strongly suggest you come early to guarantee a seat. If you are a group more than 5 people, please contact me in advance and maybe we can setup a private tasting session for your group.

Omakase is a Japanese phrase, used when ordering food in restaurants, which means " I'll leave it up to you ".
Having a menu can be convenient in some circumstances. But in my humble opinion, it takes away the opportunity for customers to have a good chat with a local, especially in a bar setting environment.
Let me assist you on choosing the right whisky for you tonight or maybe someone seating right next to you can give you some advice.
I believe there is a whisky for everyone even if you are trying whisky for the first time. Just remember to come in with an open mind and let the liquid flow.
Relax and enjoy the experience.
The experience in omakase style.

A little history about Bar Freedom.
Bar Freedom was founded by Tony & Oshita-san in 2015 based on a small dream.
Sadly, Oshita-san passed away at the age of 54 due to cancer on November 21, 2022. Despite the lost of his mentor & friend, Tony has decided to take on the challenge of continuing Oshita-san's legacy.
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Bar Freedom used to serve everything from beer, cocktails, wine, sake and whiskies from all over the world.
With the emerging of so many new whisky distilleries in Japan since 2016, Tony has decided to transform Bar Freedom into a dedicated Japanese whisky bar for customers to learn more about the golden liquid of Japan.
